Wow! There have been a whole bunch of weddings these past few months that I have been privileged to work on and here is a peek at what Gales Designs has been doing….
Pearls are always in style…..
Something for bridesmaids wearing eggplant dress with gold shoes….
This earring I made for several weddings and adds elegance and sparkle to any color dress, the bride’s or the bridesmaid’s…..
One bride picked this sweet necklace to go with the earrings for her attendants….
Another added this….
These beauties went with a sage green wedding party…
Palest of blue was the choice for this wedding…….
And of course there has been lots and lots of vintage “one of a kinds”…always a special treat!

Ahhh, August, the last vestiges of summer vacation and the hustle bustle to get ready for school. Birthday season is here as well….Mr. Gales Designs and I marked another year older as the kids get ready to mark another notch in their school year ages, too.
Fall is around the corner and I am happy to look forward when I can use these beautiful scarves I got from my daughter…pictures do not do justice to the softness of these beauties…I know they will get plenty of use very soon. And I could not help but put some other goodies together to get my fall accessorizing off to a great start.

Fall is coming and I want to savor each and every day I have with my kids before the dreaded school year starts. We are busy packing and shopping getting college girl ready for her senior year and first time apartment dwelling….and then there is a new high schooler in the house (thank goodness for school uniforms).
But I also have been doing quite a bit of beadwork…this past weekend I focused on bracelets….fall shows won’t be far behind the school bus!

I am still contemplating one more trip to the beach before school starts. I am so lucky that my parents still have the house we spent summers in as kids. We have made many great memories there and now the next generation is able to do the same.
I have shared my sea glass creations but also wanted to share my starfish decorations with you too. These are purchased starfish, I have not been lucky enough to find one on my own, although others have found them.
I like to decorate my naked little starfish with some vintage bling…..
They look at home here on a shelf in my studo where I like to surround myself with my favorite things!
And then they even jazz up some candles and glass urns around the house (a la Pottery Barn catalog)……

and if you want you can do the same with a jar of shells that would look great, too, if you don’t use all your shells making this………

Some of you asked about the sea glass I found on the recent trip to the shore in New Jersey. I have a good supply and keep it in a decorated jar in my studio and I also have a milk glass dish of my absolute most special pieces which stays on my coffee table all year!

This past weekend my three sisters and their familes joined our parents in Stone Harbor, New Jersey for a weekend of merriment and memories.
The days start with putting up the flag….
And lots of fun in the sun….and searching for sea glass……as well as a special summer dinner–a low country shrimp boil….
which everyone seemed to enjoy!
The evening is topped off with a birthcake cake and ice cream for a special little guy….
And the grand finale is playing BINGO with Nana!
More games and more fun happened after the kids went to bed, but no documentation of that seems to exist! I am so thankful for our time together! Here’s to many more!

Oh my! It has been so busy I have not had any time to visit my own blog or anyone else’s! But isn’t that what summer is all about….a little time off for family, friends and all that good stuff? But my garden is looking beautiful and flowers are gracing my tables as well as every other nook and cranny.
And speaking of flowers, back by popular demand are the flower post earrings! I had originally found them in NYC when visiting oldest daughter for her birthday. I sold each and every pair and had orders for more, so she kindly went back to the garment district last week and got some supplies for me. I plan to list some in the shop soon and if you placed an order I will be in touch.
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer! It is truly my favorite time of the year!
