Inventory and rest and just suviving the cold made January just fly by! Now it is time to get to work! I have some orders for upcoming weddings and spring shows. I also have a few new things I am working on, so stay tuned!
Blue and green are popular with the brides this season….and some neutrals, too!

Thanks to some beautiful magazines for including my work recently. These are fabulous publications that are full of inspirations, ideas and clear directions.
Jewelry Affair featured my triple strand necklaces, which are one of a kind and all have a trademark vintage embellishment.

and Bead Trends also featured a one of kind statement necklace with a vintage touch….

Here is the actual piece:

I feel honored and blessed to be included in these publications! Enjoy!

In the third part of my bridal series, I think the pictures will speak for themselves. I have been making many special occasion pieces that would be perfect for any special day, including a wedding. Some, like the above necklace are one of a kind with vintage accent pieces, others can be done again. I am so thrilled when I can create something wonderful for a bride on this most wonderful day in her life!

And of course a bracelet is a perfect accent for the wrist…….

And the look is not complete without a special pair of earrings…..

And this pair just made it over to the shop!

Enjoy! And if you want to see the older post on bridal party jewelry click here, and for mothers, click here! Thanks to all for checking it out!

Last week I brought up the topic of bridal party gifts. Now I thought it might be nice to tell you how I get some of the “mothers” ready for the big day! When working with a client, I like to see the dress, a picture or a swatch of fabric and hear their thoughts on what they are looking for, if possible.
I also like to make some suggestions….for instance, if there is a lot going on in the dress, keep accessories simple (dramatic earrings and no necklace perhaps). If the dress is plain, we talk about how to jazz it up. Most importantly, the jewelry you wear should be both comfortable and something you will feel beautiful in.
An added thing to look for…can you wear the piece again? Think of how you can reminisce about the big event when you pair that same necklace with a cocktail dress at the holidays! You get the idea!
Here is a swatch I worked with recently……

And here are the ideas I came up with………

Lots of choices, but she walked away happy with this set…..

This week another client gave me this swatch to work with…….

And here are the choices she is pondering……

or maybe a little vintage one of a kind? I always have a stash of those to look at……

Or how about a pretty purse to finish off the outfit?…..

The possibilities are endless, the choices can be so fun. You will look stunnning no matter what you pick!
Enjoy!

Technology and I are now friends. Although still behind the learning curve, I am learning something new every day!
When I first began my blog I could not charge my own iPod or upload my own pictures from my camera. Now I don’t think I could survive without those skills. But here is one tutorial that I really enjoyed and learned something from.
Andrea over at Faded Plains gives some great scoop on taking photos and how she goes about “touching ” them up a bit at Picnik.com. I fooled around with some pictures and I am in love with all the things you can do….for FREE…! Check it out! Thanks, Andrea!

The piece above is seen in my shop before the transformation…and here is the finished photo. What do you think?
Here is another “before and after”.

I can have lots of fun with this new discovery, especially with my vintage pieces. Hope you will, t0o!
